What Is the Best Way to Remove a Small Stone Chip From My Windshield?
I have a small stone chip in my new car’s windshield, not a crack though. I want to remove it. Can I use some sort of rubbing compound, or some sort of remedy? Or do I have to take it to an auto glass repair shop?

I dont mean to sound like I am giving you a slaes pitch but I run a valvoline instant oil change and I offer winshield repair service. So if you have one in your area check it out. I can tell you 9 times out of 10 it wont cost you a thing either. It is run through your insurance company and they usually pick up the tab with no deductible and no raise in premiums they would much rather pay to repair a chip than to replace a cracked windshield. If they do not cover it for some reason the rate may vary in your area but it is $49.99 here.
If you want to try "do it yourself", they sell windshield repair kits in most autozones and other retail stores. Work fair to mediocre, but it helped me pass my safety inspection and it was cheaper than get it done by a professional.
some places will do it free call around most auto insurances will cover it at no charge to you at all
