my 95 honda civic has a pretty long ***** going across the top of the windsheild. It is on the inside, and it happened when the previous owner was putting in an aftermarket rear view mirror. it is a pretty clean, straight crack, not a spider *****… And it is not obstructing the drivers view. It is all the way at the top. Also, if it will not pass, how much will replacing it cost about? also, what is the difference between repairing and replacing it? Is it true that it might not pass inspection if i just get it repaired? thank you

Whats the Best Tucson Windshield Repair Service?

Can anyone help me find a reliable Tucson windshield repair or replacement shop in Arizona? I have a crack in my windshield and need to get it looked at to determine if it needs to be replaced or repaired. The last time I had my windshield replaced, I was approached at a car wash and the guy told me that I should just replace it even though there was only a small chip in it.

I found out later that it could have been repaired and the guy probably replaced it because he got a higher commission which is what I’m trying to avoid.

I would just like to find a Tucson auto glass shop that’s honest and reliable. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Auto Repair – Windshield and Side Mirror – Where Do I Take It?

My car has a busted side-view mirror and an enormous crack in the windshield. The crack was a dime sized dot for two days, then a cold snap hit and now it’s across the whole bottom part of the windshield. I never had time to take it to be fixed, which is really irritating, since now it looks like I’ll have to have the whole windshield replaced. The mirror probably will be too. The glass is completely gone and the frame is severely cracked. Argh.

Anyway, I don’t know anything about cars except how to put gas in them and change a tire. Do I take this to a body shop? The dealer? About what should I expect to pay? I have a cheap insurance policy with a high deductible so I’m expecting to cover most of the cost out of pocket.

A Windshield Repair Gone Bad…?

I had Safelite Auto Glass come to repair a chip in my windshield. Instead of reapiring it, it is now beyond repair. He told me that the pressure of the injection of the epoxy caused it split. I can see that both splits angle down and it is at the very bottom of my windshield. My question is two-fold.
First: I was told the repair "may not take". To me, this is not, the repair may cause further damage to your windshield. What is the likelihood of this occurance?
Second: Since the crack is completely out of my line of vision, can I just leave it for now? Is it dangerous to leave it? The repairman told me it won’t implode or anything, it’s just unsightly.
Please let me know if the further damage is normal or if someone thinks the repairman screwed up.
