My Windshield Cracked What Can I Use to Stop the ***** From Spreading?
halloweenbride97 asked:
I had a chip in my windshield & last night it cracked – its in the shape of a smile, from the drivers side to the passenger side. Is there anything I can put on it to stop the ***** from getting bigger until I can replace the windshield?

no way to stop the ***** or repair it . you will need to replace the windshield
There isn’t a thing you can do but replace the windshield. That ***** is going to keep snaking until it runs out of good glass to ***** into.
But it’s safety glass, and it appears from your description that it only affected the outer layer of glass. You should be fine at any rate until you can get it replaced.
I don’t think there is anything you can use to stop the ***** from spreading, besides just having the windshield replaced. Ask your car insurance provider if there is any coverage on broken windshields. I had to have my windshield replaced a few months ago and my insurance company paid for it, except for a $40 deductible which I had to fork out.
black paint… right across the whole thing- you won’t even see the ***** after that.
There is a special glue type product available from your automotives store that is for cracks or rock chips it is made by permatex. “windshield repair kit” works good I use it myself. Or you can go to the glass shop and they will charge approx 25-40 dollars.
No , its not like that!!! Your windshield is part of the cars structure. Its bonded to the car now, and that’s why they ***** the way they do. The flex of your car will put stress on the windshield and it wont stop till the ***** reaches the other side. All front windshields are actually made of two thin sheets of glass with a thin sheet of plastic glued between then. When the window is shattered the plastic sheet keeps the glass in little pieces.
Sorry….
Good luck on your repair…
