How to Remove Hard Water Spots on Auto Glass ?
tooldaddy2003 asked:
Does any one know how to dissolve and remove hard water spots on auto windshields and windows ? I have tried vinegar and lemon juice but nothing seems to work very well. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There’s a commercial product designed to dissolve lime in bathrooms – I’ve found it useful for difficult stains. The stuff that foams and clean dentures is also good at getting out difficult stains. (I’ve used it a lot for wine stains.)
I wonder if a baking soda / vinegar paste rubbed in and then throughly rinsed would work?
I **** to give away my secrets, but, here you go.
Use toothpaste and a brush. There is enough grit in the paste to clean the windshield, but not enough to scratch the glass. Works great. Use a plain white toothpaste. Good luck
two things to try BOTH with a VERY LIGHT TOUCH
Use regular old white toothpaste… it has a MILD abrasive. And DON’T press hard.
Also… car dealers use a window cleaner with very FINE STEELWOOL and a VERY LIGHT TOUCH
Good luck! You’ll soon be singing, “I can see clearly now…”
Vinegar and water. 50/50 mix and paper towels.
for really stubborn water spots i have scraped them off with a razor blade. while in the shade on a cool windshield, i spray the windshield with windex (for lubrication) and scrape away.
just make sure you use a good accute angle on the razor (dont even think about trying to use it at a 90 degree angle) and for the love of god please use a single edge safety razor blade.
000 steel wool from the hardware store will take it off and not scratch the glass.
