   Pay rates will depend on your geographical location and how the competition is in the industry. What I would do if I were you would look up 15 different auto glass places and ask them point blank what you asked on this board. Some might not tell you salary, but some will and that will give you a good idea of what that job pays in your local area.

   Depends on the company. Most of the larger companies are moving toward younger, less skilled labor who are willing to do greater quantity by sacrificing quality. More jobs=more profit. The new powered glass removal tools available now make this possible. The pay is comparable to a trained auto mechanic. Go talk to the installers of a company you are interested in and theyll tell you how good the company is to work for. If you want to learn the business and become a good auto glass installer (not a hack) check with some of the smaller independent companies. Remember, If the installation was unsafe and someone gets hurt as a result, it’s your fault. Not the company you work for.
