Do I Need to Replace the Rear Window When the Metal Clip for the Deffoger Is Detached?

I went to several auto glass shop and they recommended replacing the rear window.I need to find someone that has a shop that specialize in keeping the same window and using a soldering gun with silver solder to replace that tab.Is this safe?
