I dont trust DIY windshield repair kits. It takes a certain touch do use them effectively, but even then it might not completely repair the crack. Also, it takes a certain gentle touch to even perform this repair. if you’re not careful, you could make the crack worse. If you don’t think you have that touch, then i would leave it to SafeLite auto glass. Besides, it might be possible your insurance company could cover the cost. You should check through them to see if thats the case.

Actually if you want it done right I’d have Safe lite do it, it’s what they do for a living and there pretty damn good at it. I don’t know about you but I don’t want a rookie touching any of my vehicles. and those kits you buy at the auto parts super stores are not of professional grade. pretty much all the same. I’m guessing here but I have a feeling you haven’t even made it to rookie status yet. am I right?
ALL the DIY kits are actually the SAME compound. Have you checked your insurance coverage? Many auto insurance policies will cover glass repair with no deductible. The theory is that repairing the glass without a deductible costs the company less than replacing a windshield with a deductible.
