A Windshield Repair Gone Bad…?
I had Safelite Auto Glass come to repair a chip in my windshield. Instead of reapiring it, it is now beyond repair. He told me that the pressure of the injection of the epoxy caused it split. I can see that both splits angle down and it is at the very bottom of my windshield. My question is two-fold.
First: I was told the repair "may not take". To me, this is not, the repair may cause further damage to your windshield. What is the likelihood of this occurance?
Second: Since the crack is completely out of my line of vision, can I just leave it for now? Is it dangerous to leave it? The repairman told me it won’t implode or anything, it’s just unsightly.
Please let me know if the further damage is normal or if someone thinks the repairman screwed up.

you’re fine, if it doesn’t obstruct your view, just roll with it until you have time to replace it…
If you have insurance they will replace it for the price of your deductible, usually a crack will run to a corner and stop but I would have it replaced when you can afford to get it done.
