I am looking to replace the windshield on my civic as it has a couple of chips.

I had a friend tell me that this can be done quickly and that a company will
come to where the car is.

He also said that my insurance will cover most of the replacement. Is that right?

I have a big ***** in my windshield from the inside from my friend screwing around. It’s like a bullethole but the cracks spread out all through the passenger side of the windshield.

I have no collision on my insurance, but are there products I can use to repair it without spending $200 to replace?

Is it true that they are required by law not to rent any cars that have a chip, less than pencil point in size??

I rented a car and when they were checking the car, they told me they were checking for cracks in the window, didn’t see any, so signed and agreed. When I return the car, the car rental company say there is a chip on the windsheild, and by law, they have to replace the whole window, not just repair the chip. They have already charged my credit card.

Where can I find more information about this “law” they are referring to?

TIA!

I have a small chip. The car is older with some obvious sand pocks, I **** to spend big bucks to replace the whole thing if a chip repair kit and some elbow grease would permanently fix it. Easy to do???…and will a repair kit do a decent job??

I’m trying to see if anyone would know what the next step would be if a claim is denied. I was at a fast food restaurant sitting in the drive thru. While I was waiting, snow and ice fell on my windshield cracking and chipping it. When the ice fell, I looked at the girl in the drive thru and asked if they cleaned off the roof. She apologized and said they were trying their best to keep the roof clean. I drove out of the drive thru and that’s when I noticed the chip and *****. I called the store back and the gentleman told me that he couldn’t help me but to call back and speak to a GM. I did and ended up taking my car up there so that they can take pictures of the damage. I told the GM I was going on vacation in a few days, and I needed to get it repaired because my car was going to be sitting outside in the snow and I didn’t want the ***** to spider out. He told me ok and that he will contact his insurance company and see about getting me reimbursed. I got my windsheild repaired for $53. I just talked to the insurance company today and I was told my claim would probably be denied on liability because it was through no fault of the restaurant and she knew for a fact they were up their shoveling the roof. If the claim is denied, is there another route I can take to attempting to get reimbursed?
yeah. I did try going through my insurance company. Thanks.
